Behavior system
clip up/ clip down
We will be starting this system in our classroom right away to promote making good choices at school and to learn from poor choices. Starting the year off learning the right behaviors for school will lead us to a great school year! ! Parent and teacher communication is vital in making your child’s school year successful! Please read below on the details of our classroom behavior system:
Each day your child will start with their clip on green. When great behavior & good choices are noticed by a teacher your child has opportunity to clip up! They can clip up to blue, purple and pink! If your child is on a good color (pink blue purple or green) ALL WEEK they earn a prize on FUN FRIDAYS!
If your child clips down it means he or she is not following school rules and or making poor choices. If they clip down to yellow it is a warning, orange they will lose 5 mins of their recess time (if still on orange by second recess) and red will be a note or phone call home/email communication with loss of entire last recess (if on red by last recess). If they are doing something negative to go past red they will be asked to go speak with our principal Mrs. Papastamantis!
*** If your child does get clipped down please remember it is learning experience and an opportunity for your child to learn from his or her poor choice.
All day long your child has a chance to clip back up if they are caught doing positive things! If at any point your child does clip down below green in the day a note will be attached to your child's behavior calendar. This note will let you know if they clipped down and we ask that you have a discussion about why they had to clip down at home. Every day your child will color their calendar with the color that they ended on for that day. Please be sure to check your child's folder each day to see where they were at on the chart and discuss their day good or bad! PLEASE LEAVE MONTHLY BEHAVIOR CALENDAR IN THEIR FOLDER DAILY. If your child has a hard time communicating about their day and you have any questions about why they had to clip down or up please send your child's teacher an email.
